A Creole Old Fashioned

An original house variation: a familiar whiskey-and-sugar structure with PEYCHAUD’S Aromatic bitters.

Makes one drink

What goes in

  • 2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey
  • ¼ oz simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
  • 2 dashes Aromatic bitters
  • Orange peel

How to mix it

  1. Combine whiskey, syrup and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir until cold, then strain over a fresh large ice cube in a rocks glass.
  3. Express an orange peel over the drink and place it in the glass. Adjust the sweetness in your next serving if needed.
